Weekly Summary 4/13/18

Happy Friday the 13th! Every day is lucky when I get to come to teach these amazing kids!

This week we did a magazine about the trash in New York City that was published on April 9 2018 which was when we reading it. My favorite parts were Prodigy on Wednesday, the experiment with magnets on Tuesday and the movie which was Wonder on Thursday. Also on Thursday we learned about Kamehameha the Second and how he stop the kapu system by sitting next to Ka'ahumanu at a party. We also learned about everyone's favorite animal at the end of the day on Thursday with Ms.Livingston. Finally the thing that was most challenging was the post test for the chapter we finished and a pre-test for the next chapter of Stepping Stones. - MA
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On Monday, we learned about our reading project, the "Bloom Ball". This project will be an actual paper ball when it is finished! It will be made out of twelve paper circles, and each circle will have something different written inside it (everyone in the class got a paper saying what should be on each circle).
On Tuesday, we tested some objects to see if they were magnetic (we did this during a magnetism experiment). We also worked on our board game project (my partner and I are creating a board game called "The Game of Hawaiian Fruit Farming").
On Wednesday, we learned how to do the jump rope trick, "Coco Cola". In addition, we got our books that Mrs. Coble chose for the "Bloom Ball" project. Also, we worked on our board games.
On Thursday, we had a pretest for module seven, and we learned almost everything that Mrs. Coble is going to teach us during this module. In Guidance class, we learned about "The World Game" (you do not want to play this game). I have had a fabulous week! - AB

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This week i learned about how magnets repel and stick together. I also learned this week this thing called Bloom ball. We did Prodigy on Wednesday. We also did PE. We did jump rope for PE. My favorite part was Prodigy because you can learned new things. Math was hard in review because it could not not get in my head because i had a lot of things in my head. -RC

On Wednesday,we learned how to do Double Dutch and it was fun .On Thursday,we learned that being nice is a right choice to not be a bully and more being a friend to other and that was from wonder. This week we went to the plex and watched a movie and it was called wonder and it was sad funny and we also had popcorn so i made it more fun and it was because we got a good job on our SBA test. My favorite part of this week was when we did prodigy and had to do jump ropes for P.E. and it was my favorite part on Wednesday,And on Thursday my favorite part was when we did the movie and i loved it. Something that was challenging was when we did the double dutch in P.E. because it was the first time that i did double dutch and i kinda liked it however, hard. In conclusion this week we did a lot of fun things this week because we had the movie our prodigy. And also i learned that it doesn't matter how you look like because you are always nice, funny, kind, and have empathy in the inside of you. also my favorite part was when we did writing and that was also fun. -KH

I learn how to use meter in math. and we also learn about king Kamehameha death. and it was fun to learn history about the Hawaiian. and my favorite part is when we use the magnet to see if it stick to other item and the part that was challenging to me is when we were starting the board game and i was worry that we were not going to finish are board game. to see if it would be fun to are classmate and it was hard to think of a idea so first we think of a idea first and start.

Summay 4/6

Wow! What a couple of weeks! I got sick, the kids had tests, I had meetings. Oh my! However, the kids persevered through it and came out on top. Although late, this one is for the 6th, and the summary for the 13th will be following soon.

The weekend we did Kahoot and I think Mrs.Coble won and she was really nice to play with us and it was the best day of my life and also this whole week was actually alot of testing and the big test that is called ''SBA'' testing that is actually boring but for our reward is watching a movie in the plex while having popcorn and it is going to be fun.The only testing we did is writing on Tuesday,Math on Wednesday, and Reading on Thursday. And we did a lot of practice on the days that we had off on the test and it is really not bad and I knew some of the math eqaution on there and some were angles and some were multiplie and it is pretty easy and that was the test that i liked and also reading was the most boring ones and it had lots of reading and i did not really like it but i want my award and i have to earn it and if i don't then that is my fault and i do not blame anyone because it is my fault and i have to do better and i forgot to tell you that i past the test so now i do not have to worry about not earning the movie and the popcorn because now i earn it.And we also got to do Prodigy after recess and that counts as two awards for us and we get to play it for an hour and it is really good and it was really fun and we got to sit wherever we want and i sat by my BFF,Kylea,Angelina, and that was the best thing that has happen in 4th grade. - T.A.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This week was pretty busy to be honest. On Monday, we had a normal day, we did computers but after that Mrs. Coble wasn't here because her baby was sick so we had to go to Ms. Hall and we learned how people affect the ecosystem. We also did Kahoot, it was really fun! We also went to an assembly about taking the SBA test and how to be ready and happy about it.
On Tuesday, we did the SBA Writing Test, it had 2, 3, or 4 questions on it, short but hard. Mrs. Coble was here though and in Science we learn and I learned that magnets were found like 100 years ago and that they can only stick to iron and steel. On Writing, Mrs. Coble told us we're going to do a project and the project is making a board game, my partner is Tealey Aui-Horie K. Southern.
On Wednesday, we did another SBA Test and it was the Math, I think it had about 44 questions total. There were some questions I didn't know. But after that we had recess on the big field not the down field because the middle school students were there. We had Prodigy after recess and then we had Physical Education (P.E.). In P.E. we did jump rope and we did Salami, and salami works by saying "1,2,3--" then you out the jump rope up and as high as you can and say "SALAMI" then you keep saying that.
On Thursday, we did another SBA Test which is the last and it's Reading we had 39 questions or I think so. We did Guidance and we played a game. It was really fun! We also did Social Studies and we learned about King Kamehameha and about trading, I also learned that King Kamehameha's bones can't be found and it's still a mystery.
In conclusion, this is what we did this week. We also did Library and I got this book called 'Ugly" and it's a true story about Robert Hoge and behind the book cover it says "Everyone is uglier than they think. We are all more beautiful too. We all have scars only we can own." I think this quote is very sad and really feel bad about how Hoge's face. I also got a book called "Narwhal Unicorn of the Sea!" and it's very cute and funny.- GG

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On Monday,we did Kahoot and symmetry and it was fun. Also we did a type of subject on Kahoot and it was reading. On Tuesday,we did our SBA test and it was writing and it was fun,However hard, We also did our board game that we were gonna do for our big project and i really liked and i hope we can do it next Monday because it's fun to do for the whole week. The first thing that we learned was symmetry and i really liked how i know angels now and now it's really fun the first time i didn't really get it but after i got the whole thing organize. We also learned about fractions angels and all other stuff because that was our math test that we took on Wednesday. My favorite part of this week was when we did the test because,i didn't miss any days which i was super happy about and we got to do my favorite subject in our SBA test and which was writing and there were only 2 questions however,we had to write a lot it wasn't only the questions we had to do a long sentence for the writing. And my favorite part was when we did reading because that was fun too and mostly all the test were fun however, hard. Something that was challenging was the SBA test because struggled with the math and the reading because they were tricky and hard so i will practice more on reading more but mostly on my math as well and i hope i can get better at it. In conclusion this shows that learning and doing things will help you be a better learner and like the test it will help you with your brain and that's why we did three SBA test in a row. -K.H.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This week learned about magnets. We also learned about King Kamehameha and did a timeline with it. We started a board game project with a partner. Something else we did were three SBA tests. Writing, math, and reading. My favorite part was coming up with ideas for the board game we have to make. I also really liked going around the classroom and seeing what sticks to the magnets. The most challenging part to me was the reading and math tests we had. -H.K.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This week was not a fairly normal week. In fact this week was SBA testing, so we were very VERY busy this week. Monday was fairly normal. We did usual things. Mrs. Coble let us play Kahoot. She also played Kahoot with us. We also did mixed skills in math. On Tuesday My partner and I sketched a board game. OH!!! I forgot to tell you guys, our big focus this semester is creating our own board game that doesn't exist. We also had our big state test on Tuesday. Tuesday was the writing test. On Wednesday we had another big state test. We did math my least favorite subject. Anywayyyy. That's basically what we did on Wednesday. On Thursday we had ANOTHER SBA test. This time we did reading. We also had Guidance on Thursday. We also got our report cards.... ALSO! Every time after our SBA testing we got to play prodigy for over an hour!!!! Except for Wednesday. We had P.E., so we couldn't for an hour.:( My favorite part was when we got to play Prodigy A LOT!!! The most challenging for me has to be the SBA testing! Especially the math. I am excited for the weekend!!! LOL :) -L.R.

We learned about how to manage yourself wisely by doing the stuff and doing something better than that like if you going on a roller coaster ride however, you have homework,so when you do that that means your not using or managing your time wisely in your time that you are using for yourself.Another thing we learned was that i did my research project which was about 'io and i learned that they are 8,500 to go on something i knew there was 8,500 some where and i learned that they are 16 to 18 inches tall for their kind.
My favorite part was that when we did tennis for P.E and i liked how we had the big mat and how we get to go around and lokk what we are looking for to do for tennis. Also my favorite part was when we did our research project and i learned a lot and i learned new facts that i can add to my rough draft. And my favorite was when we did halves like 3 1/2 is 1,300 and i actualy got it the first time and it was easy and i wanted more like that.
Things that were challenging was kinda tennis but i couldn't do some of the things that we were post do on our mat.Another thing that was challenging which was doing push ups and i couldn't do it and i done it many times. Also doing sit-ups was hard and i kinda had to push my self up and that was everything that was mostly hard and mostly other things were easy for me.In conclusion these are some of the stuff that what i did, what i learned, what was my favorite part, and what was challenging. - KyH

This week I learned a lot! It was so much fun learning so much! In Reading, I learned what this weeks' vocabulary is. I also learned our genre, Realistic Fiction and a Realistic Fiction is a made up story, not real but could happen, it usually has dialogue, and it includes realistic characters, events, and settings. I also learned paraphrasing and plagiarism, paraphrasing means when you take a someone's words and put it in your own words and plagiarism is when you copy someone. In Math, I learned meters, centimeters, millimeters, and kilometers. For example, 1 m = 1 cm = 1,000 mm or 1 km = 100,000 cm. In Science, I learned life cycles. That is what I learned this week. My favorite part was when we got to learn meters, centimeters, millimeters, and kilometers because on my pretest I didn't get what they meant. However, I got some right. -GG

Weekly Summary, 2/2/18

On Monday, I was absent because I had to go to O'ahu. However, I heard that our class had a substitute named Ms. Fetsch.
On Tuesday, at about 1:05 p.m., we read in our "Hawai'i" books about King Kamehameha. During Mathematics class, we learned about how to use tape diagrams with addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. My favorite part of the whole day was RTI because we learned about how to use the Wonders website. The most challenging part of the day was when we had a writing test; we had to write a five paragraph essay answering the question "Should schools give homework to students to do over breaks?"

Writing bibliographies was probably the most fun part of the day because I had never wrote one before and I thought they were an efficient way to cite your sources. Today was challenging because I came across a couple hard questions while on the math website, Prodigy.
On Thursday, we watched a video about life cycles and we learned about what a metamorphosis is. In GT,I did and learned how to plant a banana tree.First, you need to find an open area to plant a tree.Once you find an area, dig a hole big enough to fit the tree. Then after you dug a hole see if it fits.If it does, put 2 inches of leaves. Now pat the sides of the pot until it gets loose enough to take out.Once you take it out ,pull out the roots. However make sure to not break it.Next, put the tree in the hole and cover it with dirt.Don't cover the whole tree though. After you cover it with dirt make a barror around it.When you done that add water in the barror and your done.
My favorite part of the week though was when I was in GT.It was really fun, however,we had to do it in the wind.I even inhalled dirt. The most challenging thing this week were the timelines in Social Studies. These were my 2 paragraphs about this week.I hope you had a good week. - AW
