Can you believe that January is almost over? Our last full week of January was a blast, and the kids really enjoyed it! The highlight was definitely Prodigy, a new math game. I sent home a parent letter so you can see their progress as well. If you haven't seen that paper, ask your child.

Here's what the kids had to say:

This week I learned alot! I learned what point of view is in class. 1st person is I, me,we,mine,me ext. 2nd person is you, and your. 3rd person is them, they, he,she, her, him, names ext. That day Mrs. Coble challenged us to use 3rd person during RTI & recess. This week I learned a new math game! It's called Prodigy. Your avatar is a wizard. You can get cool outfits. Also, you can pick a pet. I have a husky and a made up animal called a soral. A soral looks like a yellow bird with a blue tail. When you and your pet go into battles with other wizards or made up animals, you have to answer a math problem to cast a spell. You can play this game. I recommend this game to everyone because playing it was my favorite part about this week.
During vocab I learned that logical means makes sent. Acquaintance means someone you know but not very well. Scrounging means digging for something. Jumble means a confusing mess. Cautiously means in a careful way. Trustworthy means can be trusted. Complementary means go together well. Scornfully means in a way that shows dislike. In math I learned what a tape diagram is. I took a test for GT. It challenging. This week was fun! -KH
