Much Mahalo,
Mrs. Lawson

Our last field trip for the school year to Star Seed Ranch in Kapaau. Mahalo to the wonderful staff who taught us so many things from collecting our own micro organisms, using the plant to make items such as rope and lei making, using our senses to learn about plants growing all around us , and husking our own coconuts.  Most importantly, how important seeds and plants are to us.  Finally, a BIG mahalo to the Where Would We Be Without Seeds organization who made our field trip possible.  Mahalo nui loa!
Dear H203 Family,
This week, we concluded our study of materials and their properties by examining how large buildings are created by assembling smaller pieces.  Students created their own structures out of paper notecards, then tested them for strength and balance!
Take a look around your home for all the items made from paper~like cardboard packing boxes, tissue boxes, or egg cartons ~ and discuss the properties that make them useful.
Happy exploring,
Mrs. Lawson
