As part of our Where Would We Be Without Seeds program that we participated in, 2nd grade students were treated to a wonderful food demonstration by Chef Jennifer.  Also, we got to meet author Ms. Yamaguchi and illustrator Mr. Ching who gave each student a cook book to take home!  Mahalo for everything!

Dear H203 Ohana,
This is our last week with our Wonders curriculum.  Our Essential Question for this week is where can your imagination take you?  Please refer to the attached outline for more information. 
Homework ~
Monday~ Write your spelling words four times
Tuesday ~ Comprehension worksheet
Wednesday ~ Write a research on a animal of your choice that you researched for fact at school.  Reminders ~ Topic sentence, at least three interesting details and conclusion.
Math ~ We are done with our Stepping Stone curriculum for the year!  We will be reviewing key math concepts to get ready for STAR math testing next week.
Reading ~ Please read your Weekly Reader to practice for reading fluency and comprehension, talk about it, log into your reading log, and have a grown~up sign.
Science ~ We are having fun covering Material Magic and will do ~

Wednesday:  Write a paragraph (biography) on a famous person using facts you research in class.
Thursday:  Study for LA Wonders assessments
Math:  Daily worksheets (focusing on area and mass for this week)
Reading:  Please read your Weekly Reader for this week on your Wonders account, talk about it (summarize) , log in reading log, and have an adult sign.
Science:  We will be doing a Mystery Science lesson:  Can you really fry an egg on a hot sidewalk?

Wednesday:  Study for Wonders (LA) tests
Thursday:  Read
Friday:  No School - Good Friday holiday
Math:  Daily worksheets (Please have your child practice counting and identifying coins, skip counting by 2s, 3s, 5s (repeated addition to build concept of multiplication, identifying a polyhedron for test on Tuesday).
Reading:  Please have your child read Weekly Reader on Wonders website, talk about main idea and key details, read for 20 minutes daily, log into reading log, have a grown-up sign.

Monday:  Write spelling words 4 times while being a quality producer
Tuesday:  Comprehension Worksheet
Wednesday:  Write a paragraph on a biography of a leader.  We will research facts in the classroom.
Thursday:  Study for LA assessments
Math:  Daily worksheets (Please practice three digit subtraction.  We will have a test this week.)
Reading:  Please read your Weekly Reader on Wonders website daily to practice for fluency, comprehension and other books for 20 minutes daily.  Talk about the author's purpose, log into log book, have a grown-up sign.
