Update on School Closure

As many of you have heard, school is closed to students through April 30th. We are providing a Grade 1 paper packet that your child may use if you choose to pick it up at school on Monday, March 30th from 9 AM-10 AM or 5 PM- 6 PM. This packet is optional. If you would like online resources, I will be uploading a post with links shortly.

Links Used in Our Classroom

Login information can be found on a sheet sent home on March 13th and it can also be located in the front of your child's planner. Stay tuned for updates!

Ms. Benson, our school librarian, wanted us to share information about our eBook collection:

Here are the steps to access it:

Spring Break and Possible School Closure

I hope everyone has a restful, safe, and fun break. If our school closes due to the coronavirus, please use the various online resources we use at school for reading and math. I will send home their login information, but it can also be found in the front of their planners. They may be able to use Epic! only during the school hours. In addition, here is a link for engaging and fun science lessons from Mystery Science: https://mysteryscience.com/school-closure-planning.

I can always be reached through email and the Remind app if you have any questions.

Field Day and Pizza Party Day

Tomorrow is our field day. Please send your children with a hat, a bottle of water, and make sure they are wearing sneakers. We will be at Ho'oko Park from 9:00-10:30am. At the end of the day, we are also having a pizza party because our class chipped in 300 Navigator bucks to purchase it!

Students have been learning how to use place-value methods to add one- and two-digit numbers and two two-digit numbers. Here they are using base-ten pieces to add two two-digit numbers without composing. They are such hard workers!

Valentine's Day

We will have a card exchange for Valentine’s Day on Friday, February 14th. If you are able, students are allowed to bring valentines for our class. Please send a decorated bag or small box for your child to collect the valentines.

The valentines must be filled out before school on Friday as I am unable to provide the time needed to fill them out during class. Thanks for understanding.

We have 20 students who celebrate Valentine’s Day.

Here we are celebrating the 100th day of school! Thanks for sending in all the amazing collections!
