Spring Pictures!

Just a little reminder that tomorrow morning, February 24th, is spring picture day for first grade. If you are planning on ordering pictures, make sure get your forms for background selection turned in tomorrow morning. Big smiles tomorrow!

Here is our spelling words for this week, along with other things we are focusing on in language arts.

100th day of school!

It's hard to believe, but our 100th day of first grade is fast approaching. In preparation for our 100th day (Feb 3) we have a couple projects that the students should be working on. Your child should have brought home instructions for each of these.  Look below this post if you missed either of those. Think you for your support!

Happy New Year!

I'm a little late with this, but Happy New Year everybody! I hope you had a great break with some good family time. We are already almost through our first week back. Some in our class are having a difficult time readjusting to our classroom rules and expectations after such a long break. Please review appropriate school behavior with your child.  I'm looking forward to a productive 3rd quarter in first grade! Thank you for your continued support in your children's education.

I love living on the big island! One small thing I do miss though, is looking forward to a white Christmas. Since our weather forecast isn't calling for snow on the island this holiday season, room E-104 decided to make our own! We had a fun last day before the break. Thank you to to all those who brought treats to share with the class. Also a special mahalo for the wonderful cards, gifts, and goodies I received as well. I really appreciated it. Whatever you might celebrate this time of year, I sincerely hope you all have a wonderful break spending time as family! Please encourage your child to read during the break. Then have them read some more:).
Here is the wreath we made in room E-104. Ours, along with many others, should be displayed down at Queen Shops food court soon.
Here is this weeks spelling words/sight words etc. Please review with your child throughout the week.
I would like to say a great big mahalo to all of our volunteer chaperones that joined us on our field trip last Friday!  You were a huge help! Despite our adventurous bus navigation (haha) we still had a great field trip! Again, thank you for all your help!

First grade is going on a field trip! Hopefully your child brought this letter home today with the attached permission form. The cost of the field trip will be $8. If you would like to chaperone please fill out the bottom of the field trip letter and return it to me.
