Lila's Book Talk

Lila gave me permission to post her Book Talk. Thank you, Lila!!! We love your enthusiasm. :)

Homework Due Date Change!

HOMEWORK ANNOUNCEMENT CHANGE!!!! (Students will love this.)

There are STAR Tests happening this week, and I'm in a workshop on Monday, the 22nd, so I have changed the due dates for the Book Talk.

Students will chose a day this week or next week to give their Book Talk. Depending on what period they are, students will be able to chose one of three days either week. I will pass around the sign up sheet tomorrow after the STAR Reading test. Sorry for the change, but the Test and Workshop got scheduled this week, but I think it will work out perfectly for the students. :)

Chipper was the first student to give his oral book talk. He came with his visual, and it was super-obvious that he had practiced his talk. We're proud of you, Chipper!!!! Thanks for stepping forward and being the first person! Doesn't it feel good to have it over with? :)  :) :)

TeenBiz Story Reminder

Aloha,

This is just a reminder that two TeenBiz stories are due by September 1st. Students had a chance in class to do a story or two during one class period this past week and could have done it during silent reading on other days, too. Many said they were going to do it at home, which is great. :) If  you don't have Internet access at home, students should make sure they grab a computer during silent reading or stay after school for Office Hours on Mondays until 2:55.

Two TeenBiz stories a week are due by every Monday morning. (They should be done by Sunday nights.)

If students get 100% on their first try, they do not need to do a second story.

We'll see what happens this first week. I'll keep in touch ...

Aloha,

Mrs. Manoske
