I've been grading 6th and 7th grade final novel tests this past week, and as much time that this takes, it's so worth it. The short answer section answers are blowing me away! I can't believe these student writers are only 11 and 12 years old. :)

RubricforOralBookPresentation

Attached is the rubric for our oral book talks. We'll start giving them at the end of next week and spread the talks out over a couple of weeks. We'll sign up five a day. You'll have to stick to the day you sign up on unless you're sick. Read your book all the way to the end. :) I have been tweaking this rubric all evening. If I find a mistake, I'll fix it. :) Happy Reading!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Alex Perkins, my former student and Ms. Souza's English student this year, gave his Hero Talk on Jim Carrey today in English class. I was LUCKY enough to get to watch it. Awesome job, Alex! When you become a famous actor, please invite me to one of your openings. Yes!!! :)
