REPORT CARDS FOR QUARTER 2 GO HOME TODAY!

Please sign and return your child's report card envelope.

Congratulations for Leaping Lexile Lunch Students!

Nine students had their Achieve 3000 lexile leap from December to January!  They enjoyed a movie, popcorn, and lunch in class.  Congrats to them and hope to see even more students in the lunch next month.

Page 2 Notes Due: Wednesday, Jan. 16th

The first page of notes in the research project is due in two days.  This is just a reminder that students must have 5 or more sentences of notes, written in their own words, on their native Hawaiian plant or animal.  They also need to make sure that they have the resources listed at the bottom of the page.  If they use a website, they need to write out the complete web address.  If they use a book or magazine, they need to list the title and author(s).  If they are using a personal interview as a resource, they need to list the person's first and last name and why they are an expert.

Welcome Back! It's Research Project Time!!!

Dear Students and Families,

I hope you all had a restful Winter Break and are ready for Quarter 3!  This quarter we will be doing a two month long research project about Native Hawaiian Plants and Animals.

Today, all students were assigned a specific plant or animal and given their research packets.  They will have until Monday, March 11, 2019 to complete the project, which will culminate in a Google Slide Presentation.  Please feel free to contact me if you need additional information or have questions.

Mahalo,
Ms. Iokepa

Important Reminder!!!

We will be biking with the wonderful PATH program on Thursday and Friday of this week.  Thank you for turning in your parent permission forms as this is a great opportunity to learn and practice bike safety.  Please remind your child to wear covered shoes to school on both days! Bringing a full water bottle will also be helpful since we will be out in the sun from 12:10-1:10 pm.
