Welcome to our awesome class!

     I am so excited to be teaching your fifth grader this year. We are already off to a great start!. Although I've only known your children a few weeks, I am already impressed by how kind this class is. I am truly honored to be teaching a class full of such respectful and thoughtful students. Each student is a joy to have in my class.

     Right now the students are working hard in all subjects. In Math we have finished reviewing place value, and we are moving into orders of operation in preparation for beginning algebra. In Language Arts we have studied the realistic fiction genre of literature, and we are working right now on narrative nonfiction. Science is focused right now on matter: mass, volume, atoms, and molecules. Social Studies this year will be focused on early American history. We are finishing up the introduction to the geography of the U.S. and are about to move into the actual history.
