Martin Luther King day parade preparation!

What do you need to travel to a new island if you are a Polynesian in the year 350AD? First you build a canoe big enough for you and your family and friends. Then you make some good sails and decorate them so they represent what you believe.

Don't forget to get all the plants you will need to help on the sea and to plant when you land on the island you choose for your home.

Next you gather up the animals you would need to keep you fed on the voyage and to build a good farm where you make your home.

Then you are ready to sail the seas!

Thanks to Tiffany, we have this amazing video of the whole first grade class singing! It was a fantastic day with no rain, lots of sun and very few mosquitoes! Thanks to all the great parent volunteer we have in our First Grade Ohana!

Field Trip to Kalopa State Park Friday

Don't be late this Friday. We have a field trip so remember to bring a sack lunch, good walking shoes, a jacket with a hood in case of rain, and a fantastic attitude! We are going to be scientists! Don't forget to make your parents do their homework if they are chaperones.....it will be in your Thursday envelope! P.S. Maybe some bug spray if the mosquitoes like you!
