About Mr. Cushnie

Aloha,

 

I am looking forward to a great year with 8th grade math.  This will be my 10th year of teaching at Waikoloa School.  I also taught 6 years at Konawaena High School and as a result, I have now taught all grades from 6th - 12th.  I believe math is a very important subject because it helps young people become familiar with numbers and helps them develop important problem solving skills.

 

I was born in the Hilo Hospital and grew up in Naalehu, Hilo, Waimea, Lahaina and Kailua (Oahu) before leaving to go to school on the mainland.  I returned after 25 years. Prior to teaching I served as an officer in the US Army and then worked in the headquarters of Delta Air Lines in Atlanta.
