One thing I learned from my last job.... When it comes to high stakes testing, look at the test blueprint, know what the test specifications are (these are called proficiency levels in Hawaii) and take the practice test. I put all of these resources together under the tab Hawaii Student Assessment on my Blog.
You could invite your parents to help their students with the practice test too. Might be an eye opener. It was for me!
