Winding Down

The end of the year is fast approaching. We are working on our final unit in both 6th and 7th grade mathematics. We will be focusing on linear equations and functions for the remainder of the year. I will be giving make up tests after school on Monday May 19th for any student who is missing a test or quiz grade. Feel free to come by on this day to make up any missing work!

Our sixth grade students did an awesome job making their way through the math challenge game while practicing their skills with proportions. Kudos sixth graders!

We are finishing up our sixth grade unit on data analysis. We had a lot of fun making story boards and creating card games to practice mean, median, mode and range. We are going to be testing next week. Make sure your sixth graders have studied up on mean, median, mode, range, outliers, box and whisker plots, inter quartile range, tables, plots, and histograms.

Want to practice some math with your kids at home? Ask them how to play card games using mean and median!

We have been taking notes on fractions in story board form. Check out how pretty some of them turned out!

Our first round of HSA testing has come to an end. Thank you to all of our wonderful students for working so hard during the beginning of the year. In anticipation of our new action periods next week, we took a moment to celebrate by learning integers with math board games!
