HW and HW help 3/25

Aloha!  Homework for our long one day weekend is as follows.

  1. Read 20 minutes per day and log
  2. Complete any unfinished math classwork
  3. Complete math reteaching 13-4

We will review these concepts on thursday.

Parents here are some helpful tips to help your child with their math homework.

These will get messier, so I've got a second lesson on this once you learn about division of decimals.

So, here's the simple stuff!

We just keep those decimal place values in mind...

These guys are a snap to convert!

fractions and equivalent decimals

What about a fraction like 1/5?

1/5
If we can turn the denominator into a
10 or 100 or 1000 (a power of 10), then we can pop it!

3/13 HW

  1. Read 20 minutes and log
  2. Study for spelling test tmr.
  3. Practice for presentations happening Wed, Thurs, Friday.
  4. Students will have a Scholastic News Worksheet that must be finished for HW if it is not finished in class.
  5. Bring food or artifact for cultural food potluck on Friday
  •      As an end to the quarter celebration, and in recognition of all the hard work the students of I-203 have done on their cultural research project, I would like to have a cultural food celebration potluck on Friday 3/14.
  • I realize that this does take extra time and work on both the parents and students part.  This is why I am making this completely optional.  If this is too much of an inconvenience, no worries.  We will have plenty of cultural goodies to go around.  In no way will your child be excluded or made to feel left out from these festivities.  As an alternative, students may bring a cultural artifact, music piece, family picture or story (from the culture of their research project, or their own culture) to share.
