Circle Time Next Week!
April 2, 2020
Aloha, Parents!
I hope this message finds you healthy.
Next week’s learning materials will be mailed to ALL second grade students. At this time, the learning materials are being provided by the Department of Education’s Office of Curriculum Instruction and Design. Please remember that students will not be graded on their at-home work whether it be a packet or online learning. The district and teachers just want to provide you with resources for at home learning and give you feedback on that work, if you so choose.
Beginning Monday, April 6th, I’m going to begin an online Circle Time for twenty minutes per day. For the first week, we will meet from 11:30 a.m. to 11:50 each day, except for Good Friday. The sole purpose of Circle Time is for students to socialize with each other and discuss how they’re spending their time. I understand that families may be sharing online devices, since some parents are working from home. Other families have multiple siblings in the house that makes it necessary to share. Therefore, it is not mandatory that students join for Circle Time each day. However, I hope your son/daughter can participate in at least one a week, so that I can see their beautiful faces and they can share with their friends.
The Webex meeting site is https://hidoe.webex.com/meet/haldridge. The site is very easy to use. Simply type in the above address and follow the prompts to join the meeting at the scheduled time. I will post a quick video of how to join the meeting under the Class Story tab. Resource teachers will also be scheduling voluntary Webex meetings with students in the upcoming week(s).
Third quarter report cards will also be mailed home next week. If you have any questions/concerns or if I can help you in any way during these difficult and strange times, please don’t hesitate to contact me on my cell (618) 304-6024, through Class Dojo, or by email [email protected]. Stay safe!
Mahalo,
Heather Aldridge
