ALOHA CLASSROOM FAMILY!
Welcome to an exciting year at Waikoloa Elementary School! My name is Jennie Hancock, and I am so excited to teach your 1st grader! I’d love to share a little bit about myself. I graduated from the University of Alaska Anchorage with a Bachelor’s degree in History and Grand Canyon University with a Master’s degree in Elementary Education. Before coming to Waikoloa Elementary I taught 2nd grade at Pa'auilo Elementary, 1st grade on Oahu, PLUS I spent time as a substitute teacher for all grades and as an assistant teacher in a special education classroom in Alaska.
I was born in Spain and have lived and traveled all over the world thanks to my dad's military career, but I mostly grew up in Alaska. Although I grew up in the military, I don't plan on moving again for awhile! My husband and I have a 9 year old son, and 15 and 16 year old daughters. We like to cook together, go to the beach, spend time with family, and explore. We love living in Hawaii! I also love to read, watch football (Skol, Vikings!), and travel.
I look forward to working with your family and making your child's year in first grade incredible. Please don't hesitate to contact me by email or on ClassDojo once I have you connected.
