4th Quarter - Students are learning about space this week. We simulate our solar system by having each student represent a planet. Students learn where planet Earth is in relation to the sun and which planets are close by.
4th Quarter - Preschool learns about the 3 R's: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. They learned to turn off lights and faucets when not needed. They also learned which items can be recycled (hint: look for the triangle of arrows!) And, they reused egg crates to make special goggles to wear while picking up trash to help make our earth beautiful and last longer.
4th Quarter - Happy Friday! Preschool earned enough links on the classroom chain to wear pajamas to school. Great work preschoolers!
4th Quarter - Preschool visits Mrs. Mayo's class for a special lesson from Nakoa Goo, curator at Mokupapapa Discovery Center in Hilo. Students got to touch and hold sea animals as they learned about their habitats, how they help our oceans, and what to do when you encounter a sea urchin, brittle star, sea snail or sea cucumber. They also heard the call of a pu'u. Exciting stuff!
