Aloha! I am excited to be joining the Waikoloa School staff as the new PCNC (Parent-Community Networking Coordinator). As a parent, avid volunteer, and resident of Waikoloa, I have many goals for the school community. My primary focus is to support the relationship between the community and the school, and to provide opportunities for families to support student learning and achievement. I look forward to working collaboratively with parents to organize activities for continuous academic and civic growth for school-community members. To get involved in your child's school and academic growth, please contact me. I look forward to meeting and working with you.
Waikoloa School's Newbery Quizbowl Team
I am excited to say that Waikoloa School is entering a team in the Newbery Quizbowl. The Newbery Quiz Bowl (held in April) is a unique event for Hawaii, where teams are tested on their knowledge of forty preselected Newbery medal books. The team is made up of students in 4th - 7th grade, with five students on the competition table. Throughout the year, members read and study the books and are then tested on the books' content, setting, and themes.
