School Quality Parent Surveys went home with students last week. Please take time to complete and return the survey in the provided postage paid envelope. Your input is essential to the success of our students. We are a TEAM - Together Everyone Achieves More!
Happy New Year! Looking forward to the second half of fourth grade with renewed energy and enthusiasm. Ask your child about the idioms they are learning in school like the one pictured above by Jakayla. Once in a blue moon the funniest things can happen!
Oh yeah! We're ready to ride. A huge mahalo to the PATH organization, its volunteers, and sponsors for providing bicycle safety instruction and awesome cosmic orange helmets for every fourth grade student.
We have been learning about how animals use adaptations to meet their basic needs for survival. Ask your child to tell you about their learning.
The students of I 202 have been building a pyramid. A Food Group Pyramid that is! We have been learning about nutrition, healthy food choices, and positive actions for our health and wellness.
As we learn about life cycles and the stages of human development, students looked into the future to envision themselves at "Fabulous Fifty!"
Wishing you and yours a wonderful Thanksgiving. Your children are such blessings. Thank you for sharing them with me.
Aloha,
Mrs. Starr Asselin

Field Trip Reminder

Just a quick reminder that the fourth grade classes will be attending a performance at the Kahului Theatre in Waimea next Tuesday, November 20, 2018. The title of the performance is "Shocka", and is put on by the Honolulu Theatre for Youths. Please be sure that your child arrives to school on time that day as we depart by bus at 8:15. All students need to wear closed toed shoes for the field trip. There is no need to pack lunches as we will return to our campus prior to our scheduled lunch time. Thank you.
Aloha,
Mrs. Starr

Fall colors, pumpkins, and smiles are just a few of the things you can see in I 202. Ask your child to tell you about our latest read aloud, Old Yeller, and other things they are learning in school.

Parent/Teacher Conference Times Going Home Today

Aloha Families,
Please check your child's planner today to find the Parent/Teacher Conference appointment time. Conferences begin next week Monday, October 29th and continue throughout the week. I look forward to meeting with each of you.
Aloha,
Mrs. Starr Asselin

After reading "How to Eat Fried Worms", the students made their own "Dirt Cups" with worms and frogs to celebrate our learning! Have a safe and fun Fall Break.
Luke and Marimar work together on a science experiment. "Sugar Shake" taught us about the weathering of mountains over time. Ask your child about this fun learning activity.

Technology Parent Night Time Correction
