Does your student need additional support? Are they struggling to get their assignments done?
Here is what you can do to support their learning:

1.  GO SEE THE TEACHER:
All teachers have "office hours" on Mondays after school where students who need help, have questions, or want to do their work can attend any class. T/TH usually is reserved for meetings, however if I do not have a meeting, then I am available until 2:45/2:50. I give up every morning and lunch recess to assist the students who want to come in for tutoring, questions, extra help, or a place to do their work: this is not a requirement, I choose to do this so I can help the students. All the students know this as it is announced in class constantly as well as told to students individually.

2.  Students should work on their assignments during class when we are doing them, and ask questions at that time if needed.

3.  Students need to understand that they need to be responsible for their own learning/education and that does include completing assignments, sometimes outside of class time.

4.  Students have from the time we do the assignment in class until the notebook assessment to complete them, which affords them plenty of additional time. Once assessed, we allow students who received a D/F to redo/resubmit for additional credit (not full credit if it is after the deadline). There are usually notes on the pages indicating what is missing or questions, these should help guide them while redoing the assignments.

5.  I am very conscientious about ensuring students have their notebooks to study before quizzes, hence if the student was resubmitting I would have indicated that they pick it back up after school or lunch recess to ensure they have it.

****As a reminder: The students are taking their notebooks home today to study for the quiz (either Wed or TH) and completing all the lab assignments if they did not do it during class. Those will be graded at the end of this week
